We’re back up in the Engadine mountains with our caravan. Today we headed off to Pontresina, the village at the bottom of the “Piz Albris” (3166 metres above sea level). Pontresina, is well known for a one of the biggest capricorn populations in the “Swiss Alpes”. In spring they come down the mountains in search of the first patches of spring gras….
…and we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of theses “Kings of the Alpes”.
Merci! I’ve only ever seen them at higher altitudes (and twice when I was walking with my mate Pete – so he thinks they are quite common!) Enjoy the rest of your holiday! 🙂
Ahhhh…magnificent! Your wonderful photographs match those in the “Swiss Alps” calendars I seem to buy almost every year. So evocative, they inspire beautiful dreams (and banish stress too). Thank you!
Beautiful photos!

I presume they are the same as what the French (Swiss) call Bouquetins – or are they different?
