Camping in the Klöntal

It’s a bank holiday, so we took the kids camping in the mountains. It was the first camping trip for our little ones (not counting camping in the back garden). They were very excited!
After breakfast we packed the car…the cats were very intrigued, fortunately we have very nice neighbours (thank you Cécile and Nils) who took care of them for us, while we were away. With everything sorted, it was time for the adventure to begin..

After about an hour drive we arrived at the camping “Vorauen” in the Klöntal. After unpacking the car and setting up the tent, it was time to explore…

…first down to the lake (the water level was extremely low for this time of the year due to the dry weather we’ve been having)…

…and then off to the waterfall.

After all the excitement of the day, we enjoyed a relaxing evening in front of our campfire in the spectacular scenery of the Klöntal.

We all slept very well and woke up to another glorios day!

But unfortunately, after breakfast we had to pack our bags again because the boys have a field hockey tournament this weekend.

But we don’t mind that much, because we’ve already started planing our next camping trip!

  1. How fun. The joys when you have little ones. Enjoy, they grow up so fast. The waterfalls are beautiful. We have had an abundance of moisture for Boise this year. Some parts of the Boise river have been flooding. Lots of sand bagging going on. Wish we could share some of the snow and rain 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

  2. Love it! I’m glad I came to your blog site to see the collaged photo effect. They just showed up as a string of photos in my email, but they all look very nice grouped together. Thank you for sharing!

  3. I love tent camping, and our tent camping memories! We have a Dutch oven, so we have a great time making yummy meals with it! Your scenery is spectacular, thanks for sharing it with us!

  4. Looks like you had a fabulous time. We’ve decided to go down the Goms valley in August. So I’ll be posting pics of our adventures too! 🙂
P.S. I’ve still not run since Zurich – though we have been away…

  5. How glorious! Those mountains are spectacular! What an experience! Wish you could see our flooded streets. We have had the opposite of dry conditions this month. Neighbourhood streets are actually closed because the water is so high. Even some carp have been confused and are swimming in the flood. I’d rather have mountains 😉

Looks absolutely stunning. Camping is such a wonderful experience. I’m so happy that my son also enjoys the great outdoors.
