Lemonious Cake

I’m not going to lose much time on writing this post as there’s a piece of delicious, lemonious cake waiting for me…@ Mrs. Twinkle

The Ingredients
3 eggs
125g butter
125g sugar
a pinch of salt
2 lemons
1.5dl milk
250g flour
1 sachet baking powder

Preheat the oven at 180°C. Mix the eggs, butter, sugar and salt. Add the lemon zest and juice. Stir in the milk followed by the flour and baking powder. Pour the mixture into the baking tin and bake for 35-40 minutes. Dust with icing sugar and you’re done.

Now get a friend over and enjoy!

  2. This looks gorgeous and I love lemon flavoured cakes. What size of cake tin did you use? Oh and how much did the sachet of baking powder equate to in grams or teaspoons? Thanks


  3. Looks absolutely delicious and SO pretty, what a treat – will definitely be trying it this weekend. I think you’ve missed the eggs out of the method, though they’re in the ingredients list. Not much of an issue for regular bakers, but might be nerve-wracking for someone new to baking!

  4. I’ve already make this lovely cake twice after I converted the recipe for U.S. measurements in cups and ounces. Made the first one for my sister’s 60th birthday and decorated it with fresh strawberries after the dusting with confectioners sugar. The second time, I made it in a Bundt pan and it cam out quite lovely. Both times, the cake got raves from those who partook.

      • I looked up the amounts on-line to find the conversions – easy peasy. Here’s what I used:
        125g butter = 1/2 c butter
        125g sugar = 1 – 1/4 c sugar
        1.5dl milk = 2/3 c milk
        250g flour = 2 cups flour
        1 sachet baking powder = 2t baking powder
        180C = 356F
