Chill Out Chilli

It’s Saturday! Time to chill out, relax and enjoy. Here’s a little some thing to kick start your weekend…

@ Mrs. Twinkle

The Ingredients
1 onion
1 clove of garlic
300g minced meat
1 tbsp flour
800g canned tomatoes
1 tbsp tomato purée
150g red kidney beans
1 tsp cayenne pepper
salt and pepper

Chop up the onion and garlic, fry them with the meat for a couple of minutes. Add the flour and stir, then the tomatoes, the purée, the kidney beans, the cayenne pepper and seasoning.

Leave it to simmer for about 1 and a half hours. It’s ready to serve.

  1. Comfort food at it’s very best. Chili is what one craves during the cold dreary months of winter. Perfect recipe for busy families , Bon Appetit Virginia

  2. Thanks for the “like” on my blog, which led me here! The chili looks great — similar to what I make except I leave out the flour (we’re gluten free) and add cumin.

  3. Chili is great for winter. I always put in a generous amount of cumin (AKA Cominos), the vital spice in commercial chili powder, and no flour (like Elisa above) as well as chili beans and no garlic. Isn’t it great we all have our own recipes but still appreciate how good somebody else’s stuff looks? I wish I could taste it!

Ooh! I love chili and I will definitely try this! Usually, I add a packet of extra spicy taco seasoning and I mince garlic into my frying meat. Also, thanks for liking my blog

  5. Chilli is so good. I don’t put flour in mine and the tomatoes I use are a mix of tinned chopped tomatoes and tinned whole cherry tomatoes, and use chilli powder and cumin. Sometimes I will also add red peppers and courgettes too! I love that there are so many variations of this dish!
